Rory Sabbatini took a 5-stroke lead into the final round and hung on to win by a stroke over 2009 champ Y.E. Yang. Sabbatini’s final-round 70 resulted in a 9-under total of 271. Yang closed with 66. It was Sabbatini’s sixth career PGA Tour win.
2010 Honda Classic Winner
Camilo Villegas capped off a week of record breaking excitement at the 2010 Honda Classic by posting the lowest score by any champion (-13) since the tournament moved to PGA National Resort & Spa’s Champion course in 2007. Villegas cruised to a five stroke victory over second place finisher Anthony Kim and the rest of the field which included 15 current or past Major champions and four of the top ten players in the world.
2009 Honda Classic Winner
The most recent winner of the Honda Classic is Yang Yong-Eun, who won his first tour title at the 2009 Honda Classic golf tournament, defeating top player John Rollins by a single shot.
2008 Honda Classic Winner
Ernie Els was the 2008 Honda Classic winner, with a stunning 16th PGA tour victory. Labelled as his “PGA tour comeback”, Els won the golf tournament by defeating Luke Donald by one stroke.
