2012 Wells Fargo Championship Odds
The Quail Hollow Championship brings the PGA TOUR to Charlotte, North Carolina each year during the first week in May. Since its inauguration in 2003, the Championship has raised over $9.4 million for charity.
This PGA Tour Championship has became one of the most prestigious sporting events in the Charlotte region, and has been recognized as one of the top events on the PGA TOUR.
Throughout the Quail Hollow Club course, exquisitely manicured greens follow the unusual contours of the hills to present a challenge to even the sharpest short game. Course highlights include hole #7, which is transected by a serpentine pond complete with waterfall and rock wall; hole #10, one of four Par 5 holes, a winding 591-yard fairway lined with giant trees and tufted bunkers; signature hole #17, 217 yards over water; and, for a suitably challenging finish, hole #18, which must be negotiated over a deep creek bed that runs the length of the fairway.
2011 Quail Hollow Champion
Lucas Glover claimed his first U.S. PGA Tour victory since the 2009 U.S. Open, beating Jonathan Byrd in a playoff at the 2011 Wells Fargo Championship. Byrd mis hit a chip shot and bogeyed the first playoff hole yesterday at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, while Glover made par to take the $1.2 million winner’s check.
2010 Quail Hollow Winner
Rory Mcllroy who earned $ 1.17 million for his winning performance stated that he was seeing is shots and kept hitting it and seeing the lines of putts really well. It was just one of the days when everything went right. He scored a fiery course record of 10-under-par 62.
Mcllroy who will turn 21 this Tuesday became the youngest golfer to lift the winner’s trophy at PGA Tour after Tiger Woods who won the championship when he also was 20, in 1996.
2009 Quail Hollow Winner
With this win Mr.O’Hair joins some rarefied company, joining Adam Scott and Sergio Garcia as the 20 somethings with three or more wins. He’s moved to number 12 in the world rankings and fourth place in the President’s Cup standings. Good for him. May he win many more in the very near future.
With Tiger Woods in his rearview mirror, O’Hair, 26, closed with a 3-under 69 — the only player from the last nine groups to break 70 — and made enough key birdies that finishing with consecutive bogeys on the two toughest holes at Quail Hollow didn’t cost him.
